[box]Winter 2012 is going to see a whole host of inspiring Make-Up Trends. Here you’ll find our pick of the best from AW12 catwalks and how you can wear them on the street![/box]
Winter really is the season for make-up, in particular Winter 2012 Make-up Trends. On the catwalk models come to life; away from their usual fresh-faced looks and suddenly thrust into fairy tale fantasies with feature lips and frosted cheeks. On the street, urbanites and country girls alike look to echo the twinkling lights of dark nights with glittering eyes.
But what are the key trends for Autumn/Winter 2012?
Embellished Eyebrows
Not a trend for the faint-hearted but one that’s captured our imagination this season, is the embroidered eyebrow, as seen at Chanel’s A/W12 show. The highly embellished eye wear inspired by minerals, is the perfect upgrade from last years glittering cat-eye flicks. Wear with a luminous base (like Le Blanc De Chanel here) or frosty powered cheeks (with Route Des Indes De Chanel here) for ultimate winter chic!
Pink Pouts
Think Pink this winter with sherbet hues and candy cane flushes. Jil Sander did it best with pretty pouts and prim-and-propper pony tales. For a pink that pops and colour to last you from day to night (while keeping the winter winds at bay) try Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick (here).
Twilight Lashes
That feeling you get when you just can’t put your finger on what it is you find so fascinating about someone, you know the one? Well Stella McCartney figured out how to make sure every woman is the subject of that lasting wonderment. With a touch of Sky Blue Mascara (like this one by Barry M), Stella’s girls looked effortless with eyes that sparkled beneath every skin tone.
Femme Fatale
One of our favourite make-up trends for Winter 2012 is such a statement trend that its followed all the way from last winter and it looks set to stay well into next year too! Deep, no-nonsense Berry coloured lips, for those among us who prefer a darker look (try Rochas Lipstick in Chocolate here).
Pair it with soft, matt eye shadows for a book-worm look during the day a la AW12 Rochas and AW12 Gucci or with blacker-than-black mascara for maximum impact at night as Jenny Packham AW12. Pat powdered eye shadow in a similar shade over the lips for extra stay power or a bronze sheen for an ever richer texture!
Which ever Winter 2012 Make-Up Trend is for you, remember this, be bold! This season is all about drama and rich opulence, but you can always soften your look with sweeping, romantic shades or warm cheeks.
Which Winter look has captured your imagination this year? Is there a trend you can’t wait to try out that we didn’t mention here? Share it with us and tell us how you’ll be wearing this winters make-up trends!
